Yesterday, it was the official opening of Roy Lichtenstein's exhibition at the Tate Modern. The 'Roy Lichtenstein: A Retrospective' was opened to the press this past Monday; and somehow I did manage to find time and go between the shows at LFW - it was something I wouldn't miss for the world.
The exhibition is a first full-scale and in-depth retrospective of the groundbreaking pop art master's work in more than twenty years; featuring his revolutionary comic strips and advertising images - some of the most recognizable work on the planet .
The opportunity to attend and the sight of the 'Why Brad darling, this painting is a masterpiece' and the 'Oh Jeff I love you too but...' by the recognizable blondes that shout 'I'm a Lichtenstein' along with his other major pieces, made me feel an intimate alchemy, a warm feeling of joy.
The exhibition will be running at Tate Modern from 21st February - 27th of May 2013.
Peace and Love
